What is the Church Season of Advent?

The lighting of candles, count down of calendars, and decorating of spaces have all been used to help believers throughout the centuries prepare themselves spiritually to celebrate the birth of our Savior.

The readings from scripture this season are designed to remind all of us that God has made many promises to people over the years. All of God’s promises are made good to people in time.

This includes God’s promise to us, that Jesus Christ will return - Just as he promised a Messiah for the people of Israel, which we celebrate on Christmas Day.

This season is one of waiting, preparing, joy, and hope, as we celebrate that God always keeps his promises.
